Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Discussion about Palestinian Independence and world peace have made the 60th Asia-Africa Conference (AAC) Commemoration a lot different than the previous ones being held.

Peace talks among various participating nations is not uncommon, however, the encouragement for support on Palestinian declaration of independence is one unique aspect that may invite bitter criticism for those who oppose such notion.

Palestinian Foreign Minister, Riyad Al Maliki express its utmost gratitude towards Indonesia for its sincere gesture in including the Palestinian right to independence in the agenda of the 60th Asia-Africa Conference Commemoration.

"It is not only about the strategic partnership but also support for Palestine. We were singled out as Palestine and we are striving to reach independence. Solidarity is needed and welcomed," Minister Riyad said at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, Monday (20/4/2015).

Minister Riyad however, views support as incomplete in the absence of real life actions to actually making it a concrete realization.

"We have heard so many supports and interest for assuring the declaration of our independence but what we want now is the translation of those words and supports into action," he explained.

Minister Riyad is scheduled to meet with the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Relations, Retno LP Marsudi and the South African Foreign Minister to discuss the realization of such notion.

"Hopefully, the three of us could visualize different approach necessary to help us together in addressing such issue," he added.

Minister Riyad also explained how he desires China's involvement in trying to establish peace and promises that Palestine will, without hesitation, come into Indonesia’s aid if the country requests it.
