Liputan6.com, Los Angeles - Senyap atau judul Inggris-nya The Look of Silence meraih penghargaan tertinggi ajang International Documentary Association (ISA) Awards 2015 yang berlangsung Sabtu (5/12/2015) malam. Diwartakan Variety, Senyap meraih gelar Film Terbaik di ajang yang diperuntukan khusus bagi film dokumenter tersebut.
Senyap karya Joshua Oppenheimer yang merupakan kelanjuatn dari proyek film dokumenternya yang juga dipuja-puji di seluruh dunia, Jagal atau The Act of Killing.

Jika Jagal berkisah tentang pembeberan para pelaku pembunuhan massal terhadap anggota dan simpatisan PKI di tahun 1960-an, Senyap menyoroti bagaimana keluarga korban PKI berdamai dengan masa lalu yang kelam. Di Senyap kita melihat keluarga korban bertemu pembunuh dari kakaknya yang dituduh PKI dahulu.
Selain baru saja meraih IDA Awards 2015, Senyap juga masuk daftar 15 dokumenter unggulan yang berpeluang masuk nominasi Oscar tahun depan.
