Doctor Claims Jessica 'Not Depressed' Even After Arrested

Doctor's statement is somewhat paradoxical to Jessica's attorney earlier claim which suggests that she is depressed.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta The Indonesian general population continues to put a great amount of attention to the alleged murder-case of 27-year-old Wayan Mirna Salihin which led to official arrest of prime witness turned suspect Jessica Kumala Wongso on January 30 2016.

Jakarta police has previously assigned Jessica to undergo medical and mental checkups following a surge of strong allegations placed upon her and several supporting evidence which made many formulated such great suspicion.

Psychologist provided by Jakarta police made recent confirmation regarding Jessica Kumala Wongso’s mental ad psychological state. Doctor informs that Jessica is actually mentally healthy even after she was named as a suspect to the cyanide poisoning case of Mirna.

As her health condition was being checked, doctor went to confirm that she maintains normal state of mind and such is paradoxical to Jessica’s attorney earlier claim which suggests that she is subjugated from depression.

“It is not true. Jessica is not all depressed, she is mentally and psychologically fine. For the time being, I can assure you that she remains in normal condition even from the time when we officially arrested her,” Chief of Health division in Jakarta Police Musyafak to Liputan6.com, Monday (1/2/2016).

“Physical checkups clearly show that she maintains a normal heart rate and stable condition,” Musyafak continued.

According to Musyafak, the health department is now leaving it up to investigating officers to make furtherance of the probe.

27-year-old Wayan Mirna Salihin was a newlywed before meeting her death at Olivier Café in Grand Indonesia Mall Jakarta on January 6. Her ice coffee was reportedly laced with cyanide and local police is yet to name the suspect. The victims and two suspects, Jessica Kumala Wongso and Hani are all former students of Australian universities and therefore the AFP was asked to help local authorities probe over the victim and suspects relationship.

Strong allegation has previously been placed upon Jessica as she was the one ordering Mirna’s ice coffee and she went to deny any involvement in her death. Jakarta Police general crime division head senior Comr. Khrisna Murti confirmed that he has maintained communication with the AFP regarding the case. Jessica will be detained for further investigation until February 18 2016.
