Liputan6.com, Jakarta - A woman fell to her tragic death as she walked out of an elevator in Kualanamu Airport, North Sumatera. Her body was only found three days later.

She fell through a gap between the elevator and the outside floor.

The incident happened on April 24 last month when Aisiah Shinta Dewi Hasibuan (38) was taking her relative to the airport.

The CCTV showed there was something wrong with the elevator. Aisiah seemed panicked and tried to open the door with her hand (the family's lawyer, Hotman Paris Hutapea, disputed it despite the CCTV record).

The door was eventually opened, but not on the right floor.

Aisiah rushed out from the elevator without seeing the gap outside the elevator, and she fell to her death. At that time, she was alone inside the elevator.

Her body was already decomposing when being found on April 27.

Earlier this month, the family decided to sue the airport for causing the death of Aisiah. Four people were reported to the police, including the President Director of Angkasa Pura II, Muhammad Awaluddin.

The Ombudsman also found maladministration in the airport which led to Aishia's death.

AP II is a state-owned entreprise which is responsible to operate airports in the western part of Indonesia.  Awaluddin has apologized for the incident.

"On behalf of company group Angkasa Pura II, we apologize to the family of the victim and the public for this incident. We are working to make Kualanamu Airport better," said Awaluddin on his statement in early May.

The lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea announced that the case was settled. The husband of the victim decided to withdraw the reports.

Hotman said his client has reached a settlement with the airport. The glamorous lawyer also cited the "good will" from Angkasa Pura Aviasi, the parent company of Angkasa Pura II.

After the incident, CEO of Angkasa Pura Aviasi, Achmad Rifai, announced that his company has perfected the operational procedures in Kualanamu Airport.

Achmad Rifai also thanked the Ombudsman for the recommendations. Angkasa Pura Aviasi also said that the case was settled peacefully with the victim's family on May 11.
