Liputan6.com, Parimo - A 15-year-old girl was sexually abused by 10 men in Parigi Moutong, Central Sulawesi. However, police ruled out rape.
The Regional Police of Central Sulawesi said there is no evidence that the victim was experiencing violence or threats that forced her to perform sex acts with the perpetrators.

All the sexual abuses took place between April 2022 to January 2023 in different places. Police said the victim was offered stuff, even a promise of marriage.
"The modus was not by violence, but persuasion to buy items, even among them promised responsibility in the event of pregnancy. In this case, there is no violence or threats, including abusive acts to the victim," said the Chief Regional Police of Central Sulawesi, Police Inspector General Agus Nughoro on Wednesday.
The police are not using rape law, but instead using the Child Protection Act against the perpetrators. The maximum penalty is 15 years in prison.
Police Involvement
A police officer is allegedly involved in the case. The Central Sulawesi police promise to be transparent in investigating this case.
The victim was hospitalized as of June 1. The Director of Undata Hospital in Palu, Herry Mulyadi, said the girl was feeling pain in her stomach.
The hospital is planning to perform hysterectomy to the girl as her internal organ is damaged because of the sexual acts.
In order to protect her identity, the hospital put the girl in a special room. Her condition is said to be improving and ready to undergo the surgery.
