Liputan6.com, Jakarta Kabar duka datang dari kerajaan Inggris. Pangeran Philip, suami Ratu Elizabeth II dikabarkan meninggal dunia pada usia 99 tahun. Hal tersebut dinyatakan oleh pihak kerajaan Istana Buckingham.

"Dengan kesedihan yang mendalam Yang Mulia Ratu telah mengumumkan kematian suaminya yang tercinta, Yang Mulia Pangeran Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Yang Mulia meninggal dengan damai pagi ini di Kastil Windsor,” tulis pernyataan tersebut dilansir dari laman BBC.

Sebelumnya, Pangeran Philip dirawat di rumah sakit sejak Selasa 16 Februari 2021. Suami dari Ratu Elizabeth II itu dilaporkan terkena infeksi.

Pihak keluarga kerajaan tak menyebut infeksi apa yang diidap Pangeran Philip. Sebelumnya, Duke of Edinburgh sudah menerima vaksin COVID-19 di Kastil Windsor.

Kabar ini nampaknya tak hanya membawa duka bagi pihak kerajaan dan masyarakat Inggris tapi juga di berbagai belahan dunia. Hal ini terlihat dari tagar "Prince Philip" yang langsung menjadi trending topic. Banyak warganet yang menyatakan rasa dukanya melalui tagar tersebut.
