33 Snipers Assigned to Secure the 60th Asia-Africa Conference

The event which will be held both in Jakarta and Bandung require extra security personnel as many foreign delegations will be coming.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - West Java regional police will dispatch as many as 9.700 personnel as part of a joint force to assure the security of 60th Asia-Africa conference in Bandung.

"9.700 Joint personnel from the Regional Military Command and West Java police force will be deployed to secure the parameter throughout the 60th Asia-Africa conference which apart from Jakarta, will also be held in bandung," West Java Head of Police, Mochamad Iriawan said to Liputan6.com, Bandung on Monday 30 March 2015.

Apart from the aforementioned joint force, as many as 33 specialized snipers will also contribute to the enhancement of security measures for the event. They will be situated around the location.

"There will be snipers on high buildings. We will coordinate with the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) as to where they should be stationed specifically. We have 33 of them," he continued.

He further explains how crucial areas such as the building for the event and Gedung Sate will be sterilized as part of the security measures. 

 Not just the buildings, the toll roads that will be used by foreign delegations should also be sterilized and emptied on that day to assure their safe and hasty arrival to the location.

"We firstly will sterilize Gedung Sate. And then we will move on to other buildings such as the one that will be venue for the event. We are also going to empty, secure and close the toll gates when the delegations arrive so there are no traffic to halt their presence to the event," he added. (Akp/Tnt)
