193 Policemen Litigated Due to Drugs- Related Misconducts

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Riau police department recorded that throughout the early months of 2015, as many as 193 policemen reportedly have been challenging the laws instead of upholding it. 

One of Riau Police Officers, Budi Santoso informed how out of the 193 currently on trial policemen, a large number of those who fail to abide the laws are the ones stationed at Riau police headquarter with misdemeanours ranging from violations on its fundamental disciplinary procedures to breaching in the police code of ethics.

"From January all the way through to May 2015, it has been learned that 90 policemen assigned at the Riau Police headquarter wreck havoc by violating all kinds of rules," Officer Budi informed, Saturday (6/6/2015).

The most predominant factor that led many of them into violating the laws is drugs and the situation continues to become more worrying with reports suggesting 4 of them actively operated crystal meth business in the area of Pekanbaru.

"We have revealed many of the policemen covert activities which include the illegal distribution of elicit drugs, crystal meth. They are currently detained and obliged to undergo legal processes which will be followed by the Committee Process on the misconduct of Police code of ethics," he concluded. (Akp/Sss)
