Traffic build-up during working hours and now, undetermined traffic hours due to massive construction operated in scores of area have contributed much to the stress of the people residing in this particular region. Traffic however, can always be avoided should people start visiting the notion of using other mode of transportation that would take them anywhere faster.
The Ambassador of Denmark to Indonesia, Casper Klynge, is among many who have resorted to using bicycle to get to work.
“I strongly recommend using bicycle in a city like Jakarta but it is necessary to use helmet and remain cautious especially during traffic hours,” Ambassador Casper shared to Liputan6.com in a special interview held for the program ‘The Ambassador’.

Using bicycles as mode of transportation has become a culture that is profoundly embedded in the Danish society and thus it is not surprising to see it’s Ambassador in Indonesia to apply its culture here.
During the interview session, he did not forget to share memorable story of taking Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok on a bike ride.
“He was actually the one who invited us for a bike ride when we visited him at the City Hall and so we provided our famous Viking bicycle for him to try,” he further shared.
Ambassador Casper then continued sharing how he admires Jakarta Governor very much for his transparent character and dedication in managing a hectic city like Jakarta.
“I am a big fan of Jakarta’s Governor, Mr. Basuki,” he said in excitement.
“It was such an amazing morning bike ride with Governor Basuki. Such a great man he is, the man who envisions the reduction of traffic by spurring bicycle usage than resorting to four-wheeled vehicles. We had a great time indeed,” he concluded. (Akp/Ein)
