Its blueprint which was formalized during 27th ASEAN Summit in Malaysia provided such ambition with a platform necessitated for the undertakings of regionally, better yet internationally integrated economic activities among ASEAN countries.
One of the positive ramifications from AEC that Indonesia can use to boost its economy is that local products will be given the opportunity to compete with foreign made products in the global arena.

Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla informs that the ambitious plan to establish a free market among ASEAN nations has already been discussed since 10 years ago. According to him, Indonesia will have to strive in the economic competition whether or not it is ready with such challenge next year.
“We have discussed this 10 years ago and its actualization is due happen next year,” Vice President Jusuf Kalla said in his office, Jakarta, Thursday (10/12/2015).
He further explains that the in and out flow of all goods and services from all ASEAN nations will be given the freedom to circulate around the regional arena with very little barriers.
“ASEAN Economic Community is designed for the free in and out flow or the movement of all products and services of ASEAN nations among each other,” he explains.
