Truth Behind Jakarta Attacks Begins to Unravel

Head of Indonesian Intelligence Agency shares view regarding 'internal competition' among leaders of terrorist groups in SE Asian region.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The recent terror attacks in Sarinah Jakarta inevitably raises questions over the origin of the assailants and the warmonger that successfully fed the minds of the dead terrorists that brought horror into reality in the early hours of Thursday 14 January 2015. Chief of Indonesian Intelligence Agency (BIN) Sutiyoso speaks up in an attempt to make necessary clarifications surrounding the issue.

According to him, it is strongly speculated that the group of terrorists that carried out the attack on Thursday noon was ISIL-related Indonesian extremists which has been racing for dominance in the South East Asian region.

He adds, the mayhem that day was the Indonesian extremists’ method of attaining leadership in South East Asian region against other contingents within the region.

It has been learned that the notoriously known terrorist network ISIL in South East Asian region is going through an internal commotion where smaller contingents allegedly conduct their own series of terror in an attempt to show off their capability and loyalty to the group as a whole. Thus, race towards acquiring top position has been viewed as the primary impetus for the Jakarta attacks.

"They are one competing against one another, each trying to show off their strength as to find out who holds the most power at the regional scale," Sutiyoso shared on Friday 15 January 2016.

Sutiyoso continued explaining that these violent extremists have been indoctrinated to achieve leadership status and so such has been implemented in each country where terrorist network is evidently growing.

Each leader in targeted countries relies on his own personal belief that he is the most capable one and so the competition starts with one another to reach final conclusion as to who has what it takes to be called the most successful leader in orchestrating attacks.

"Indoctrinated leaders of these terrorist group believe that if they die following a successful conduction of mission, they will be given the privilege of front-liner position in the queuing line up in heaven. And so with that kind of brainwashed mentality, surely they will fight over this," explained Sutiyoso.

BIN Chief however, refuses to reveal the actual strength of ISIL in Indonesia.

"There are things that the public should and should not know," he concluded.
