Such saying is becoming increasingly popular among population as many police have evidently been using a shirt with ‘turn back crime’ words written on it either on back or front side in recent shootout with terrorists all across the globe.
It is apparently a saying formulated by the International Police Criminal Organization (Interpol) back in April 2014 during its yearly conference in Monaco. It headquarter is in Lyon, France. ‘Turn Back Crime’ is not merely a saying but also serves as a symbol celebrating the organization’s presence for over a century.

General Inspector Setyo Wasisto was assigned to represent Indonesia during the launching of ‘Turn Back Crime’ principality as he also assumes role as the Secretary National Central Bureau (Ses-NCB) Interpol Indonesia from the National Police force at that time.
“Literally it means fighting crime, counter-attacking crimes being done. We live in a world, in a society susceptible to criminal undertakings, we live among criminals, they are everywhere,” Setyo told Liputan6.com on January 21 2016.
“Many of the criminal undertakings we face include corruption, corporation, drugs and many other,” he continued.
According to Setyo, ‘Turn Back Crime’ saying is not being campaigned solely within police force itself but has also been glorified by influential figures in other elements of society such as movie stars, soccer player and even car racers.
“At international scale, we can see that the ‘Turn Back Crime’ has been used by Ducati and also Jackie Chan, who happens to be its ambassador,” he added.
Shirts with those words written on it have become available online with many reportedly selling it to the general public. Setyo supports such rampant widespread of acknowledgment and influence as he views that the growing trend could in return, help remind people to remain on high vigilance and assure their safety everywhere they go.
