Singer Eric Nam Collaborates with Indonesian Artist Naufal Abshar in 'House on a Hill'

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - International singer Eric Nam is collaborating with Indonesia artist Naufal Abshar for his breezy and charmingly upbeat new song: House on a Hill. Naufal Abshar is involved in designing the single cover art. 

The cover art shows a man dining alone in a style which would remind the viewers of the classic and elegant early 20th century American gentleman aesthetic.

Previously, Naufal also made album cover for singer Kunto Aji's Mantra.

Naufal said he met Eric Nam during his arts exhibition in Los Angeles in which the singer told him about an upcoming album project. Later, Eric called Naufal and offered a collaboration.

The two young artists began to communicate through video calls about ideas, inspiration, and the story behind 'House on a Hill'. Naufal said the discussion would last for hours.

He described the cover as showing a suave gentleman who is enjoying a dinner in a luxurious restaurant, alone. The man has reached the height of his career, yet he feels hollow and unfulfilled with his wealth and achievements.

"Eric was amazed by the final result," said Naufal in his press statement. He sees the cover art as the powerful combination of Eric's "soulful vocal and lyrics" with his artistic visualisation. 

Musicians HONNE and Oh Wonder! are also involved in producing the music.

In September 2023, Eric Nam will embark on House on a Hill World Tour. He is scheduled to visit various states in the US, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Mexico, various European countries, Australia, and New Zealand. He has yet to announce the dates for Asian countries.

The 34-year-old singer is also famous in East and Southeast Asia for his songs in Korean. One of his famous songs is You, Who? a La La Land-vibe pop duet with Jeon Somi.
