Liputan6.com, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) still has not openly declared support for any presidential candidates in 2024 elections. Jokowi is still a member of Democratic Party of Indonesia-Struggle (PDI-Perjuangan), although his millennial son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, is running with Prabowo Subianto from the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra).Â
But it seems blood does thicker than PDI-P's red color. Prabowo's national campaign team has declared that Jokowi is fully supporting Prabowo-Gibran.Â
"The majority of Jokowi's volunteers are with the candidate number 2, and nevertheless it is impossible for Mr. Jokowi to just let Gibran go," said Silfester Matutina, Deputy Head of Prabowo's National Campaign Team, Tuesday (16/1/2024).Â

Silfester also recounted her conversation with Jokowi in Fakfak, West Papua. She asked Jokowi about his feeling toward Prabowo-Gibran.Â
"During the meeting I asked Mr. President in Fakfak, I said that Mr. Prabowo loved you, sir. Affectionate, he said. And (Jokowi) said, 'I love you full to Mr Prabowo 200%'," Silfester said.Â
It is unclear when Silfester and Jokowi had that conversation, but Jokowi recently visited Fakfak in November 2023.Â
Just last month, Prabowo's National Campaign Team also boasted that Jokowi's supporters will have reunion in the election day to vote for Prabowo-Gibran.
Indonesia's next election will be held on 14 February 2024, the Valentine's Day.
