Video Baru Slipknot: Killpop, Kebencian Mereka Terhadap Bos Label

Liputan6.com, Los Angeles Para metal head alias fans musik metal pasti merasa senang dengan yang satu ini. Slipknot baru saja meluncurkan video musik terbaru mereka, Killpop.

Seperti yang dimuat dalam press release Warner Musik Indonesia kepada Liputan6.com baru-baru ini, tercatat setidaknya 32 media online musik Amerika Serikat mengulas karya terbaru Slipknot ini serentak.

Single `Killpop` sendiri adalah ekspresi rasa benci sekaligus cinta sang vokalisnya, Corey Taylor terhadap industri rekaman, khususnya para bos. Seperti kita tahu, bukan rahasia lagi kalau musisi idealis terutama di genre musik rock, seringkali berbeda arah dengan kebijakan perusahaan rekaman yang menaungi mereka.

"Lagu tersebut tentang betapa saya masih mencintai bermusik - tapi juga betapa saya membenci sisi bisnisnya.. Merupakan refleksi hubungan saya dengan musik, itulah sosok `she' (dalam lirik). Bukan hanya musik, tapi industri musik," ujarnya.

Killpop juga merupakan lagu paling easy listening dari album terbaru mereka; 5: The Gray Chapter. Memang, lagu ini dibuka dengan nyanyian santai Corey, baru kemudian ada sedikit growl ditengah yang lalu dilanjutkan dengan chorus yang tidak terlalu agresif.

Slipknot sudah eksis sejak 1995. Memiliki sembilan personel tetap sejak 1999, Slipknot pernah memenangkan Grammy Awards kategori Best Metal Performance untuk lagu Before I Forget 2006 lalu. Simak lirik lagunya di bawah ini. (Gul/Rul)
